What a competition to remember! We would like to thank everyone for your sportsmanship and genuine support for one another as you all created a fantastic environment for the Championships! A special thanks to mums, dads, families, and friends who came to support the athletes, and to the incredible group of coaches who do so much to make it all possible. Thank you also to the entire FC Staff for your untold hours of work—it is an honour to work with such a caring group of people. And finally, to the athletes: No matter what level your team might be, we know it takes a tremendous amount of effort just to GET to the competition. We thank you for that effort, and say congratulations on your success at Brighton! Thanks for your role in moving UK cheer & dance to the next level… and thanks for flying with Future Cheer!

Congratulations to the
Future Cheer Bid Winners for the
2007 USASF Cheerleading Worlds

Partial Paid: Goldstar Galaxy (declined)
Partial Paid: AEC All-Girl or Co-Ed (replaced—division pending)
At-large: Surrey Starlets (replaced)

Worlds Bids have shifted… How?
The USASF has made a NEW rule change this year that does not allow double duty or “crossover” competitors of any kind at Worlds. Essentially, this new rule has forced Goldstar to select either their Cheer bid or their Dance bid. It has also essentially forced Ascension to select either All-Girl cheer bid or their Co-Ed bid. Goldstar has selected to decline the Cheer bid and accept the Dance bid. Ascension decisions are still pending. Either way, this situation has created a natural shift in Worlds bids.

Because Goldstar has declined the cheer bid, standard protocol for USASF member companies is to then pass down the Partial Paid bid to the next accepting team. This happens very commonly at American based USASF competitions. The declined Goldstar Cheer bid means Ascension (either All-Girl or Co-Ed) is now a Partial Paid bid. Additionally, protocol also dictates that Future Cheer has the option to hand down “replacement” bids to additional team(s) in the event original bid winners decline. Because Goldstar declined and one of the AEC bids will also be forced to decline (pending internal decisions), Future Cheer could have extended two new bids. However, in the interest of balancing two goals of (1) providing a strong representation for the International divisions and (2) protecting the integrity of the bid process, Future Cheer has elected to only extend this option to one team—Surrey Starlets. While the additional bid offers are “expected” by the USASF, the decision of who the bid goes to and how it is selected is entirely up to FC. The selection is based partly on score, as well as the overall observed ability to produce what Future Cheer deems to be appropriate for the International divisions at Worlds. With all factors VERY carefully considered, Future Cheer is proud to stand by our final selections for Worlds Teams—2 Cheer teams and 3 Dance teams!

We hope you’ll join us in traditional FC style of friendship and sportsmanship in celebrating the accomplishments and opportunities ahead for each of our Worlds Teams! Congratulations to all bid winners—we look forward to watching everyone represent UK Cheer & Dance in the International Community!
